So- this has to be short. We are pooped. This is our last night in Inez, Ky. Greg's hometown. Hard to leave-definitely. Tomorrow we head to Louisville to catch our flight the next day- 1pm on the 28th, my Dad's birthday. Driving through Lexington to visit Greg's Mamaw and have lun-ner with dear friends- Pam Robles and Starr Garrett, August and Everest.
We spent the day packing, then re-packing. So many tiny decisions of "can I do without that for 3 years?" We were able to break up the day with skype dates with friends at 10am and then at 3pm. Thanks goes out to the Muchmores and the Ostranders for helping us get through this day- and speaking hope and excitement into our hearts just by being yourselves and hanging out. Tonight we were at Greg's home church-where he shared (with tears) that this was where his roots were, and that he wouldn't be who he was today without them. And that he takes those roots with him as we replant ourselves in Indonesia. It was fun to share about Indonesia- so many topics- weather, boarding school, kopi luwak, squatty potties- ha! That was a big moment for us- sharing that we have been on this journey for a long while and that it has been for a purpose. The perserverance and faithfulness that has been cultivated in us will be of value beyond our knowledge in these years to come.
We invite the Holy Spirit to keep cultivating our hearts- and right now, we invite him to do it as we try and sleep for the next 6 hours. COME HOLY SPIRIT. We are yours.
