I cannot count how many times someone responds to the fact we live in Indonesia with "Oh, do they have great coffee?" The fact that we live on the island of "Java" would surely give a person a good reason to ask that question.
The pictures above were taken just across the street, at our neighbor's house. We were surprised to see him drying his coffee beans, in the blazing sun. Not sure where the beans came from, but there are several coffee plantations near us, so one of those could be his source. I am sure you notice the chickens hanging out in the first picture. They are everywhere in our neighborhood, roaming free. Wonder if they snagged one of the beans & had a caffeine jolt for the rest of the day.
As for what coffee is actually like in Indonesia...well, I plan to share more tomorrow with picture #10, so stay tuned till then.
